Great White Shark Vs Anaconda

On Monday, November 10, 2008

Monday morning, the phone rings, the alarm clock is still three seconds later. It is 7:30 and the day begins. Anne-Sophie wonder if I'll follow the group in Versailles, I do not know yet ... After ten minutes of thinking, I said I'd better follow the group, although personally I do not want that much to go: I do not want to be alone. The whole group is really enthusiastic, we'll see the castle of Versailles.

Barely have we left the hotel, Claude, sister of the adorable Ms. Garet, runs out in pajamas. She does not want to leave without saying goodbye. She returned to La Rochelle this evening and will spend the day with Ms. Garet. We appreciate his presence and tell him to go inside, it's cold and she has no coat.

is also the feast of Anabel, she decided to stay at the hotel to study and see his mother during the day. We will find ourselves before dinner. We wish him a good day birthday.

Everyone goes towards the subway to travel by train to the castle. And I forgot ! The French are the bridge, because Tuesday is a holiday. This means that many businesses are closed (we forget a little later). We arrive at the counter where to buy tickets, twenty minutes later, he asked Hottote eleven tickets in the direction of Versailles. The very kind young man (we had fallen on a lucky star, guide, our hilarious guide OFQJ was no longer with us) tells us that the castle is closed for the day, in fact, it is closed all Mondays. Mr. Hottote is very pleased that we were warned the boy and that we did not make the trip for nothing. The rest of group is really disappointed because Versailles was now or never, I feel a little guilty because I am not very sad, and rather relieved ... So we have other decisions to be what do we do?

First step: to remind the hotel in order to warn Victor (Julie's boyfriend) that we go to Beaubourg today and not Thursday as planned, but in Paris as the majority of phones do not work that with a calling card, we do not succeed in the cabin bunch of users. Anabelle wanted to see more mention precisely this exhibition there, the response falls: "She decided not to follow, it was his decision."

Twenty more minutes (still twenty minutes!) And here we are. Just before arriving, we pass a very nice shop. There are several buyers: Audrey Hepburn through Alexandra cup Barbapapa for Anne-Sophie, postcards in industrial quantities for Caroline and me.

But nothing seems to work today: the Centre Georges Pompidou opens in fifty minutes. There should be a meeting point at the foot of the sculpture Chantal favorite: a huge pot flowers, no flowers. The band broke up, I go with a subgroup shop. First stop Miss Naughty, boutique clothing, accessories and shoes. Again purchases. The subgroup is further subdivided, Anne-Sophie, Caroline and I are going to another shopping destination. It's nice to shop together!
Back at the intersection, arts student card in hand, we go pretty easily. We deposit bags and coats in the cloakroom and the tour starts.

The Futurists: an exhibition based on the Futurist Manifesto of Filippo Tommaso Marinetti. Michel-Andre explains some tables. The expo is really successful. Some love, others less. We visited two exhibitions on modern art in two days and some really do not.

After visiting the first part of the Pompidou Center, we'll eat. The temperature is not very forgiving, but we found a nice snack. Nutella sandwiches and crepes for dessert will fill our hungry until dinner time.
The band split at the end of the meal: Chantal returned to the Louvre, the Pompidou center and other else decide to do something else. Interminable time to deposit our coats, separately this time, because everyone has different projects for the afternoon free. We then visit the permanent exhibition, which is beyond the reach of any-one-each: it is very modern and not always easily accessible.

Then Janie, Alexandra and I are moving to the Rue Mouffetard. This time it's more twice twenty minutes that we need to reach your destination, even at a very fast walking pace. DISAPPOINTMENT: almost everything is closed on Monday in France, even in Paris. (We had forgotten). Still we enjoy the few shops open. Janie had fallen in love with skirt style trousers, thus fitting must ... Result: the skirt is too small. Second arrest for donning a tunic with cats for me, the fitting is still required ... Result: I look like a tapestry, tablecloth or curtain, I do is not good. Another disappointment.

It is time to return to the hotel, but none has a sense of direction very well developed, we make a stop in a bookstore, a very nice young man we explain the way several times to understand that we need a plan!

The direction Clement, twenty minutes, obviously. Brief preparation in the room before leaving dinner. Meanwhile, Anne-Sophie learns that she will entrevuee phone with a journalist from Radio-Canada, the stress increases, but as always excelled.

Branch Tavern, which is ten minutes (yes, ten!) From our hotel. Lovely little restaurant, though few have the wind at his back: when you open the door, they are full draft. The food is very good. I dare to eat a beef tartare; surprise the taste, I love, but I am unable to eat more than half: it is much too rich. Desserts are also successful, Janie is still and always in ecstasy, his return to Quebec may be difficult ...

Most of the group then goes to a bar where a group of gypsy jazz occurs, to find Julien. We also meet four beautiful boys one of whom escaped VOLUNTARILY his glass of beer on Anabel! It's really funny. We would like to stay but we are expected to visit the apartment Juliens to mark the anniversary of Anabel. Really great evening. It's nice to have the chance to talk with people in the apartment (where all the world is welcome).

One o'clock, it's time to sleep, the night is short, it's off to Rennes tomorrow afternoon.
